CNA Exam can be defined as a method used by the state authorities to evaluate the competency level of an individual, who is aiming to offer routine nursing care to ailing patients in a hospital, long term care unit, nursing home and other patient care facilities.

In the United States of America, the congress has passed a Legislation OBRA-87 to safeguard public health and welfare of the citizens, through quality and competent nursing cares. The legislation further mandates the state authorities to oversee that only qualified nurse aide candidates, adept in the nursing care skills are certified. These testing agencies are also authorized to provide scoring and report to the state Nurse Aide Registry about the successful candidate.
